Applications are invited for one-year post-doctoral fellowships at King’s College London. Four (4) fellowships are available each year, generously support by the K. C. Wong Education Foundation.
Successful applicants will receive a Fellowship to undertake research in one of the following Faculties of King’s:
a. Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences;
b. Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine;
c. Faculty of Natural & Mathematical Sciences;
d. Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care; and
e. Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience
The Fellowship will consist of subsistence costs (tax exempt) at King’s Grade 6/7 levels and
consumables (as per Faculties’ discretion).
Period of the Fellowship
a. 1st October 2020 to 31st September 2021
b. Please note that fellows will not be permitted to hold multiple funds/awards concurrently with the funds awarded under this Fellowships Scheme. In this scenario, funding and duration for this Fellowships scheme will be adjusted pro-rata.
Applicant eligibility
a. be current residents of the People’s Republic of China (PRC)
b. hold a PhD degree
c. be within 10 years of the award of a PhD degree
d. be scientists of post-doctoral level or equivalent status who are employed by a scientific or academic institution in the PRC, or who have confirmed employment with such institutions after the completion of their fellowships
e. agree to return to work in the PRC and make a contribution to the field of their studies/research, after completion of the fellowships
f. have a good command of spoken and written English
Application process
1. Interested applicants should first contact the King’s researcher with whom they wish to work, to obtain agreement to host a fellowship.
2. Submit the following documents to globalengagement@kcl.ac.uk by the deadline of 1 February 2020:
a. CV
b. An outline of the research project
c. Letters of support from current supervisor(s) (in China); and
d. Letter of support from the proposed King’s academic supervisor including confirmation of approval from the Head of Division.
Successful applicants will be notified by 15 April 2020.
